We’ve had the Ugly Stik wars, we’ve had the Penn Reel wars, now it’s time for the TFO wars?
What do you think of them as a fly rod ?
I am as fond of them as I am Ugly Stiks, Penn Reels and Airflo fly lines

My main weapons are a 4 piece Sage 7 wt and a TFO 4 piece 5 wt to take along as a 2nd rod to use when I need a rest or while the guide gets the fly on the Sage out of a tree. Frankly, I’m pleased with my TFO. It wasn’t too expensive and it is a good back-up rod. Both pack very nicely in the bottom shell of a 32″ duffle bag for domestic or overseas travel. My TFO is OK.
I have 4 or 5 other fly rods including an old pre WWII South Bend bamboo fly rod that my dad got in China plus a couple of those heavy old fiberglas fly rods. Gawd how did we ever fish all day with one those things? No wonder I had to get a new titanium shoulder! UGH!!
