saltwater fly rods
What size fly would be appropriate for saltwater fish (red drum and speckled trout specifically)?

My whole life I’ve been doing inshore saltwater fishing with spinning tackle. I’ve always heard of people flyfishing for redfish, speckled trout, stripers, etc. (by the way the river I fish is predominantly speckled trout and redfish). Flyfishing looks fun so I found a good rod and reel for a good price, but I need some flies.

Google and Youtube has helped solve a lot of my questions in saltwater flyfishing. BUT I can’t seem to find out what size fly would be good. I typically fish in spin tackle with hooks around the 2/0 to 4/0 sizes. But all these websites and stores have flys in the 1 to 4 sizes OR a 1/0 to 3/0. So what would be good for regular flies? shrimp imitations? poppers?

And any tips and pointers would be great too. Give me your email or myspace. Love talking to fisherman about the sport.

Thanks for ya time:)

from a size 4-2/0 should work well. a shrimp pattern ,or one similar to a mickyfin, using a kelly green to an olive green over pearl crystal flash would mimic needle fish quite well

This might not be the best place to request this, but I’m looking for a pest management provider in the pittsburgh region and have no method to find out who’s the most effective. I located this business that’s truly close to me and wished to see if any person has any evaluations on them.
