FLYFISHERMAN. What can you catch flyfishing in saltwater?
Just wondering what I can catch if I dusted my old flyrod off and took it out into some saltwater.
Firstly you will need an 8 or a 9wt fly rod, depending on how comfortable you are handling a large fish on a lighter set up, you will need a floating WF fly line to start with then you might want to buy a intermediate, some flies like the clouser minnow in chartreuse, poppers, and shrimp imitations work well to catch most species,such as those suggested above, the last time i fly fished saltwater it was mainly a mix or bonefish and tarpon, but almost all species can eb caught on a fly rod.
